  Waking up to a frozen windshield is a major nuisance. A frozen windshield requires around 10-15 minutes to deice. This can be burdensome, especially when you are getting late for work.   There are a lot of perks to living in cold regions, but defrosting ice from car windows makes the entire experience loathsome. Fortunately, this is preventable and there are a lot of quick ways to scrape ice off your windshield. 1.  Crank the Heat Up Start the ignition and crank up the heat. Raising the temperature of the car will help melt the ice. Turn the blowers on and point them at the windscreen. Switch on the heaters to keep the air dry.
